As a third culture child, Stephanie knew early on that she wanted to dedicate her life to helping others through their life transitions. Stephanie Heitkemper is trained as a Marriage Family Therapist (MFT), and practices in the state of Colorado as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC. 0016025) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and Fellow in Thanatology (FT). Stephanie's ability to work with multiple people in the room, can make difficult and sensitive topics easier to work through. Stephanie practices EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) therapy as a EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Consultant in Training (CIT).
Stephanie earned her Bachelors of Science from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia where she studied Human Services and Psychology. Stephanie obtained her Master's Degree from Regis University in Denver, Colorado where she studied Marriage Family Therapy. Stephanie is actively pursuing her Doctoral Degree in Counseling and Psychological Studies Specializing in Grief.
Self-care is often explored in sessions, and equally as important to Stephanie. When Stephanie is not working or studying you can find her exploring Colorado. Stephanie also enjoys being a dedicated volunteer with Comfort Zone Camp, for the past decade.
