Individual therapy is a unique approach. Often similar modalities may be used in sessions for grief, trauma, or various client needs, our primary focus is tailoring each session to support the specific needs of the client.

Grief Therapy:  

 

Resilient Minds Counseling offers a space where you can explore all aspects of your grief in a confidential, compassionate space. Our grief therapy practices provide an interactive and compassionate way to find and maintain continued bonds while fostering healing, resilience, and transformation.  Therapy can offer a place to process pain without feeling rushed, misunderstood, or alone. Grief is a language of its own, often stored in a region of the brain that lacks verbal access. Resilient Minds Counseling utilizes EMDR, Play Therapy and creative expression to support the profound tenderness associated with experience of love and loss. Grief therapy can help gently challenge your comfort zone as a mourner, and adjustment to your new experience in life Most importantly grief therapy provides clients a hands-on interactive way of find continued bonds to the deceased.  Continued bonds, the forever attachment to the deceased can be maintained and even strengthened through EMDR and Play Therapy.  

 

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy: 

 

Resilient Minds Counseling believes that within each client is innate resilience and the capacity for healing within, to support that believe Resilient Minds Counseling utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) often in their therapeutic approach. EMDR is a transformative modality that places the client in control of their journey. In this safe, non-invasive, structured yet flexible framework, EMDR helps the address and resolve emotional wounds, which promotes healing and personal growth.      

 

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach used to help clients with heal from distressing or traumatic memories. EMDR is an evidence-based widely recognized for its ability to reduce Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) symptoms such as intrusive thoughts, flashbacks, dissociation, and nightmares.  In addition, EMDR can be used to help client navigate anxiety, depression, phobias, addictive behaviors, obsessive compulsive disorder, and many other symptoms. Resilient Minds Counseling specializes in utilizing EMDR for PTSD, Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) (the experience of prolonged or repeated trauma), attachment trauma, anxiety, acute trauma incidents, car accidents, war, and violence.  

 

Play Therapy: 

 

Resilient Minds Counseling approach to play therapy is rooted in a comprehensive understanding of various therapeutic models and techniques. Drawing from historical foundations of Child Center Approach, Adlerian Play Therapy, and Synergetic Play Therapy the counseling practice aims to provide a comprehensive and effective therapeutic experience for children.  Resilient Minds Counseling honors the principles created by Carl Rogers in creating a space that is non-judgmental, empathic, and accepting. This is approach is instrumental in creating rapport and trust in the sessions and enforces that the child is the expert of their story. Gently weaving in a more structured approach from Adlerian Play Therapy allows Resilient Minds Counseling to collaborative create goals, encourage cooperation, and development of social interest towards supporting reduction in the symptom. Resilient Minds Counseling believes that healing in play therapy comes from a safe and attuned relationship, which is facilitated through the principles of Synergetic Play Therapy. Synergetic Play Therapy reenforces attachment, regulation, and emotional healing. Utilizing pieces from all three modalities in addition to Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) aims to provide a tailored experience for each child. These approaches respect the child’s autonomy and encourage their active participation.  

 

Parent Support: 

 

Resilient Minds Counseling recognizes that supporting children in therapy requires dedicated time, energy, as well as a financial commitment. Individualized full length sessions offer parents and caregivers guidance and strategies to best support their children in their therapeutic journey. Resilient Minds Counseling honors the collaborative process between the client, therapist, and parent emphasizing the time and energy s to best support the needs of their child(ren). Focused sessions around emotional regulation, grief, trauma, and treatment planning are available by appointment. Resilient Minds Counseling follows best practices for consent and disclosure. 

Does Resilient Minds Counseling accept insurance?

  • Resilient Minds Counseling is an out-of-network provider with all insurance.  Resilient Minds Counseling does not work with insurance. 

  • Resilient Minds Counseling is currently not accepting Crime Victim's Compensation (CVC).

  • Resilient Minds Counseling does not accept Medicaid or Medicare Insurance. Coverage for those insurances must be provided by their network.

  • Resilient Minds Counseling can accept HSA/FSA payments.

  • Resilient Minds Counseling can provide superbills. 

  • Resilient Minds Counseling encourages clients to contact their insurance directly to learn more about out-of-network providers. 

  • Beginning January 1st, 2022, Resilient Minds Counseling will provide a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) to all clients.
